Health & Wellness Class for Youth designed by our Certified Personal Trainer - Karen Boyer!
Kids Fit and Fun Activity Class is Coach Karen’s creation for a fitness and wellness class for youth. Each of our classes, one per week, are designed to educate the students to learn new exercises (shown with proper form), learn different muscles names that are being worked, healthy habits and fun games.
Coach Karen feels that introducing these keys to healthy living are vital at a young age and in a positive, fun environment that will carry into any sport or physical endeavor that the students will do.
This class aims to build a positive connection to encouraging fitness and health with the emphasis on making lifelong impact on the students.

Kids Fit and Fun Educates and Moves Students
Kids love to move, have unlimited curiosity and love to play games. This program embraces these characteristics and builds into our students an age specific understanding of:
How to do the exercises correctly,
Which part of the body and muscles are worked,
Why its important to be active and practice healthy habits
Basic relaxation and focus skills to help with the “Covid-Slide”
Exercise can be fun and is important to be healthy
Studies have shown that students perform better in school with daily physical activity.

Head Coach - Karen Boyer
Kids Fit & Fun Creator - Certified Personal Trainer since 2003
Coach Karen has a life-long pursuit of fitness and exercise.
She started early around age 5 doing Mousercise, a Disney exercise program on TV, early Saturday mornings. That start lead to breaking and keeping middle school track and field records from grades 6 through 8 that are still standing. In high school, Coach Karen was not only a varsity cross-country and track athlete, but she also went to Ohio All State competition, highlighted by a 4th place 1600 meter relay team win.
In college, Coach Karen was a Division 1 athlete in Cross Country and Track and Field for the University of Akron. After graduating with a Health Education Degree, she completed the Towpath Marathon with a 3rd place finish and a qualifying time for the Boston Marathon.
In 2003, Coach Karen became a certified personal trainer and has since completed many other fitness certifications, such as Pilates, Yoga, Group Exercise Instruction, Pre and Post Natal exercises, and most recently, TRX suspension training. In addition to all of these athletic achievements, she also had been practicing Kung Fu since 1998 and holds a black belt.
Coach Karen definitely practices what she preaches and was so excited to create this program for youth to grow the love of health, fitness and wellness in our students.
One of Coach Karen's life goals is to finish the 1,444 mile long Buckeye Trail, which is in the picture above. She has already completed all of the Buckeye Trail in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
